How to enter in a preliminary event?

Each preliminary event will host 10 contestants that will battle head-to-head in four minutes of chili eating glory to advance their way into the World Eating Challenge on February 8th, 2014. Each contestant will be given one half gallon of chili and four minutes to chow down as much chili as possible. At the end of those four glorious minutes, the 1st and 2nd place eaters will be crowned and get an exclusive spot of only 12 eaters at the World Chili Eating Challenge to take on the “Top 5″ eaters of the International Federation of Competitive Eating a/k/a Major League Eating.

The 1st and 2nd place eaters will split a total prize money of $500!

The World Chili Eating Challenge is a sanctioned International Federation of Competitive Eating contest.
