About Us

Events for Change is an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing unique and exciting public and private events where proceeds are donated to deserving local charities and other not-for-profit organizations.

The staff at Events for Change provides professional event planning and management services at a minimal cost to ensure the benefiting charity receives an optimal return.

Our goal is to raise as much money and exposure as possible for these great causes while providing a fun experience for attendees.

The Orlando Chili Cook-off, in its first year, was held in Baldwin Park in January of 2010. This first-annual and premier event attracted a crowd of over 3,500 people and raised over $15,000 for Special Olympics Florida. Since the first year this premier event has grown rapidly, in the fourth year the event attracted a crowd of over 13,000 attendees and raised $57,500 for Special Olympics Florida and other charities. In the past four years, the Orlando Chili Cook-off has raised over $150,000 for charity.

Kenneth Roberts

Kenneth Roberts is the Founder and President of Events for Change, Inc. Kenneth is a professional speaker, career coach and executive recruiter for Interior Talent, Inc., an international recruitment firm. Kenneth also serves on the Baldwin Park Resident Owners Association. Born in New Jersey and youngest of 5 children he moved to Florida in 1988. He is a graduate of University of Central Florida (class of 94). He is a father, husband and in his spare time enjoys flying and spending time with his family and friends.


Nadia Roberts

Nadia is Principal of Interior Talent, an International recruitment firm for the Architecture and Design industry. Prior to this she spent the early part of her career in financial services and real estate in her home town of Vancouver, B.C. Nadia moved to New York to pursue her love of design and all things creative where she graduated from F.I.T. in New York City then moved to Chicago where Interior Talent opened their doors in 2003. It was living in New York and Chicago that Ken and Nadia’s (yes we are married) love of festivals and live music was born which ultimately planted the seed for Events for Change. “When Ken decided to turn the Orlando Chili Cook-off into a huge charity event and create Events for Change; I couldn’t wait to be part of the team.” Nadia also loves her real life’s work as Mom to Karlin and Elise.


Anthony Hurd

Anthony Shawn Hurd is a sixth-generation Floridian dating back to the 1850’s. He graduated from the University of Florida and is an avid Gator fan. He is married to Carrie Hurd and they have a beautiful daughter named Harper and another child on the way. Hobbies include the salt life: fishing, boating, beach, etc. He has been in the pharmaceutical industry for over 14 years and truly enjoys helping others lead a better quality of life. The opportunity to work with Events For Change has allowed him to give back at a local level for various organizations.


Jose Neme

Jose Neme is an original committee member with OCC. He is a strong supporter of Special Olympics where his niece is a Special Olympian. He is involved with Events for Change, Habit for Humanity, Dream Big, Florida Citrus Sports along with several Orlando fundraising events throughout the year. He is a long time resident of Central Florida attending UCF and Lyman HS. After graduating from UCF, he continues to be employed in the technology industry and currently working at Verbatim. Jose travels extensively for work and personal enjoyment along with spending personal time exercising, golfing, and writing music.
